Hi,
I've been running VB 4.2.x on a Windows 8 RTM for a couple of months without problems. I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 RTM and got the well-known problem with Bridged Networks. I solved this by upgrading to VB 4.3 which also supported Windows 8.1 as host. This solved the problem with the network, but when I now run a Windows Server 2012 guest both my host and the guest suffers from very quick "mini"-freezes of mouse and keyboard input which is very annoying. I never had this problem before, so I guess it as to do with the combo Windows 8.1 host and VB 4.3.

Win 8.1 Host and VB 4.3 "mini"-freezes both host and guest
Re: Win 8.1 Host and VB 4.3 "mini"-freezes both host and gue
Hi,
Some more information about the case. I run my guest with 2 cores on a Dual-Core i7 (4 logical processors). If I change to 1 or 4 cores in my guest, the mini-freezes occurs more frequent, especially with 4 cores. I changed to Guest additions 4.2.18 and it seems to be running a little albeit little bit better but I haven't got any technical proof, just a feeling. I also tried to run without any Guest additions, but with no luck.

Hi,
The version of VirtualBox you are using, and whether you have installed the Guest Additions (in the guest).
* 4.30, I've tried both the v4.30 and v4.2.18 Guest Addition.
Host & Guest make and version including 32 or 64 bit, and the amount of memory available to both.
* Host: Win 8.1 64-bit 8 GB RAM, guest Windows Server 2012 2 GB RAM
Guest log file (as an attachment)
* Attached

Re: Win 8.1 Host and VB 4.3 "mini"-freezes both host and gue
Hi again,
I've now upgraded to the v4.3.2 of VirtualBox and also updated the Guest Additions to v4.3.2, but the problem is still there. It's very annoying and it makes both the host and the guest more or less useless as the input from keyboard and mouse is freezing intermittently.
Has anybody else experienced anything like this?

You're likely suffering from high DPC latency. See DPC thread and try the test version there. Try to report any differences you see. Lets try to help the devs fix this regression.

Hi,
As stated above my problems are the same as the ones described here.

I have installed the build recommended in the post above and it works much better now.
