After loading Virtual Box I setup a windows drive to run pc programs, however after loading a pc program when I try and open it, it gives me an error saying "application configuration error, you might fix by re-installing program" (or something to that affect. I have tried downloading all of the Windows updates but can not get it to boot the pc program, your thoughts will be appreciated.

That isn't even remotely enough info to diagnose anything. What guest OS? What app? What are the VM settings? VirtualBox version? Precise error message? Context of error message?
