I am trying to load OS 10.6 on my MacBook Pro running OS 10.8.5. I installed VirtualBox 4.3.0 and that worked fine. I made a new VM, selecting OS 10.6 64 bit. When attempting to load the software, the black background, white lettering screen comes up but then stops. It reads as follows:

What do I do from here?

I don't think 10.6 was 64 bit. I'm pretty sure it was not since ML was the first. This might fix the problem by changing the selection and recreating the machine.

I'm pretty sure 10.6 was 64-bit capable (as well as 32-bit capable). In fact I'm running it as we speak. The problem that Rickynent was describing has to do more with the bootable medium.

Check to see that the .iso or the DVD that you have is actually bootable. Also, I've heard that if your machine is way newer than the OS that you're trying to install, that may be a source of headaches as well... But, on the other hand I have a 10.5 VM running on an early 2011 MacBookPro...
