Afternoon folks,

I running into an issue with Mr Guru. He doesn't seem to like the image I'm attempting to run. First this image runs fine on my windows 7 box as a host, the guest is allocated 1024 MB. When I attempt to run it on an older laptop with only 896 MB of ram, no joy. The VM guest is configured to run with 224 MB of ram, I had tried 256 MB, both result in Guru.

I have attached the compressed log file. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You try to run a guest with 1024 MB RAM on a host with 896 (!) MB RAM and no luck. No wonder... You don't have enough RAM!

Then you say that you configure the guest with 224-256 MB RAM. Trying to remove RAM from a system doesn't automagically make it run. Ubuntu 12.04 requires a lot more than 256 MB of RAM!!!

To put it simply, your host does not have enough memory to run this guest.

Actually located under system->processor now.

Try enabling PAE in the guest settings but don't hold too much hope for it working at anywhere near a usable speed.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Unfortunately the laptop's processor does not support pae. I must have read the specs for an older version of Ubuntu because I was under the impression 256MB was more than enough. After googling the minimum specs again, I found 256MB is not enough.

I have abandoned trying to get it to work for now.
