Acceleration is greyed out in system settings

Post by Licensing »

I have a Dell Latitude E6530 with an I7-3520m processor and every time I try to install Windows Enterprise 8.1 32bit or 64 bit I get the following error
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Windows Enterprise 8.1.

VT-x is not available. (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {db7ab4ca-2a3f-4183-9243-c1208da92392}

Is my laptop not capable to run this or am I missing something. Your assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Enable Virtualization in your BIOS and make sure Hyper-V is not installed on your machine.

I found out the problems and wanted to post in case someone else runs into this.
The BIOS was configured correctly. The problem was I went to some Microsoft training and had to install Hyper V in order to use the Azure. I had to go to the Windows features and turn this off. I opened up the Virtual Box and the acceleration was no longer greyed out and installed Windows 8.1 with no problems. :D
