Hi,

after the last update to Virtualbox 4.3 i've a problem with the RDP screen which is going black after some time (several hours i think).

Environment:
  • Host: Windows Server 2008R2
    VirtualBox 4.3 headless
Guest: Windows XP incl. newest VirtualBox Guest Additions
I've searched around the net and saw that people had similar problems in older versions of VirtualBox, but i did'nt found a solution for that problem.
When RDP screen is black the virtualmachine is still running correctly.
I also found out, that if i do the following commands, screen is back again, but why that happens?`

VBoxManage.exe controlvm VMName vrde off
VBoxManage.exe controlvm VMName vrde on

Anybody has an idea?

I experience a similar problem in v4.3 (Host OS: RHEL 5.7)
I use an HP Thin Client to view the Remote Display of a Windows 2008 VM (3D disabled).
If the RDP client doesn't close the session nicely (e.g. I remove power from the Thin Client to simulate a power loss), when I connect again I have a black screen.
If I disable and enable again VRDE on that VM, Remote Display starts to work correctly again.

try enable multi connections in the VRDE settings of the VM and see if this work better.
