Win7 USB devices fail to attach after Mavericks update

I'm running a Windows 7 vm under VB 4.3. After updating Mac host to OS X 10.9, my USB devices will not attach in Windows:

"Failed to attach the USB device ... to virtual machine Windows 7"

Callee RC: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005

Problem was solved by installing latest Oracle extensions package on host vm manager
