Hey guys,
Is this possible, I would like to have a Ubuntu guest shared between Windows 8 and OS X.
So for example, I'd have all my VMs on a USB 3.0 external hdd, then add those VMs to my Virtualbox install both on Windows 8 and OS X, effectively sharing the ubuntu install between both? So I could boot my ubuntu VM in Windows 8, do whatever, shut the VM down and boot the same VM from OS X and carry on working from there.
Would this work? Or would I get some OS specific issues when booting the ubuntu VM?
Ta
Share same VB between Windows and OS X?

I am doing the exact same thing. The only issue that I have is the shared folders option. You see the paths are different. On the Mac it is "/Users/Shared/VirtualBox" and on Windows it is "C:\Users\Shared\VirtualBox". Since the paths are stored as absolute paths in the <Machine>.vbox file, this fails. But it's not a big issue really...keogh wrote:Is this possible, I would like to have a Ubuntu guest shared between Windows 8 and OS X ... Would this work? Oh, now that I remembered, another issue that you might run into is the Bridged networking. On the Mac is is tied to "en1" which doesn't exist on the Windows side. Easy to fix...
