3d guest mini toolbar background

This is a minor problem, but not very nice to see :/

With last vbox version, almost all vm that have 3d enabled don't update the mini toolbar background. Some older os, like windows xp and centos with 2.6.32 kernel, are ok. But recent linux, windows 7 and 8 don't refresh the mini toolbar background. The background shown comes from early screen images, like the welcome screen in windows 7, and stays like that all the time.

Guest addictions make no difference. That happens with old vm before ga update, old vm with last ga, and with fresh installed vm. Can it be a video card issue? I have a nvidia 9600m gt, drivers are not the latest. Someone else have similar problem? Or the same card with no problem?

If I disable 3d support everything is fine, at least from the mini toolbar point of view.

The first thing I would do would be update the NVidia driver on the host. They released a new one for Windows last week - 331.58 .

The driver update didn't solve the problem.

Anyway, I'm going back to 4.2 because I've found a serious problem in 4.3, I'll post details after some tests. About the mini toolbar, it is more than a guest draw issue: the preview in VirtualBox Manager stops updating at the same frame that sets the mini toolbar background, it's like some status in the host stops beeing updated.

Can't post logs, "the board attachment quota has been reached"

Problem still exists in 4.3.2 .
This is tested on Intel graphics.
You can turn of 3d acceleration as a workaround.

This error still exists in 4.3.4 (with my nVidia driver)
I think VB support will never fix this. They don't care. It was 1st reported in 2011.

Don't use Unity3D . Your dad and grandpa has grown up without hw acceleration, and mesa and fancy things, and they were happy people without that.
Dont use Ubuntu. Only 75% of linux users uses Ubuntu, the other 25% are totally happy without Unity.

Maybe I'm cheeky a bit, but its ridiculous when a support do nothing for 2 years, about a 100 times reported bug.
This bug occurs with ATI, Intel and nVidia video drivers. With old and new drivers. With 4.1.4 .....4.3.4 VB versions.

Oh, but they DO care. Really. Both for programming/documentation and in monetary contributions. And in user, well-founded and documented feedback...

Now you blame users? Inaccurate feedbacks? LOL. Bunch of peoples reported this bug long ago. It's not a rare something, but an obvious and permanent, easy to reproduce error. If you start Unity3D or Gnome3D, the accelerated desktop will suppress your stupid minitoolbar, you cant catch it anymore. This not happens with Unity2D. Doesn't matter what videocard and driver you got. Without minitoolbar, its almost like a real linux, just that stupid running Windows in the background foreslow it. For nothing, because you can't reach it, or any VMachine conrtoller function on the minitoolbar. If they say they don't know about this bug, and their testers can't reproduce it, they lie.
If they hey DO care, but can't fix it since 2011, then something is wrong don't you think.
