Seamless Mode

I installed VirtualBox 4.3 on MacOS 10.6.8, with Debian 7.2 as the guest. I installed the VBox guest additions, and seamless mode shows up as an option, but I get bizarre artifacts when I try to use it. Is this a known problem? Is it working for others?
