I have the operating system Linux Mint 13 MateI.I have installed the version 4.2.18 (via gdebi) through package.deb not through the repositories ..I would like to know how to upgrade to 4.3.0 version.

What I have to do ?

I have to uninstall the previous version ?....and then install the 4.3.0(.deb)....

most people install on top of the previous release. I however always uninstall, then install.

Also
released a significant new version of Oracle VM VirtualBox
recommend uninstall, then install v4.3.1 or v4.3.2, unless you like being on the edge

Thanks for the reply, but I have a question:
if I uninstall the version 4.2.18 ,the virtual machines and their settings are lost...?

Best Regards...

Why would you expect such thing ??

If MS Word is uninstall, your files stay
If Pages is uninstalled, your files stay

Same with Parallels, VMWare and VirtualBox !!!!
