Serial Port MBA with WIn7 in VirtualBox

Hello everyone
No how to enable the serial port, I need to run on Windows 7.
In the tab port mode is not put, or the path / file.
I hope somebody help me

How I can enable the serial port in VirtualBox for me PL2303 cable detected? In my virtual machine running Windows 7.

All you need to do is go to VM settings, serial ports and :-
- Tick the "Enable Serial Port" checkbox.
- Do not change: Port Number = COM1, IRQ=4, I/O Port=0x3F8 [ LEAVE THESE SETTINGS AS THEY ARE ]
- Port Mode = Host Device.
- Port / File Path: <the device name of your host serial port here>
I'm not familiar with OS X hosts. On a Windows host the port device name would be "COM1" etc or "\\.\com10" etc. On a Linux host I believe the device name would be "/dev/ttyS0" etc.
All of this is assuming that the host recognizes the serial port. Otherwise the only way to get the guest to recognize it is if it's a USB device and you have a USB filter configured, and you have Windows drivers, and even then it may not work - since using physical hardware is not really the role of a VM (dual boot might be better if you need that).
