My host OS is Windows 8, I would like to have Mint15/Ubuntu 13.04/Xubuntu 13.04 as guest. I installed Virtualbox 4.3.0 in order to install Mint/Xubuntu/Ubuntu. But I cant even boot LiveCD, here's the error I get when booting Ubuntu through virtualbox:
"The virtual machine window is optimized to work in 32 bit color mode but the virtual display is currently set to 24 bit.
Please open the display properties of the guest OS and select a 32 bit mode, if it is available, for best possible performance of the virtual video subsystem."
And that's it, I can't go any further, cant even install, boot LiveCD, installer hangs and nothing happening. Any advices? My laptop is Asus X201E

That dialog is a warning, not an error. It's simply telling you that the guest graphics mode needs to be the same as the hosts, for best performance. You can worry about that once the OS is installed. In the meantime you simply click ok or close the dialog and the boot will continue. The dialog box also has a "do not show this again" checkbox (you may need to enlarge the dialog to see the whole thing).

The main problem is that even if I click ok on this warning, boot wont continue, it just hangs and nothing is happening ...

Then you have some other problem and the dialog is a red herring.
Post the VBox.log file for a session. I.e. make sure the VM is not running, zip up the file "VBox.log" from the Logs subfolder of the VM folder (<doc>\VirtualBox VMs\<vmname>), and attach the zip here.

Is this a 32bit or 64bit OS you are trying to install? If the latter then you'll need to enable VT-x support in your laptop BIOS.
You can't install software (including the GAs) in the guest OS until the guest OS is working.

Im trying to install 32 bit OS. I cant install GAs when guest is not running, I dont see this option anywhere in menubar. What else can I do?

Re: Host: Windows 8, 32 bit color in VirtualBox, cant instal
The GAs are not important right now.
I see that the virtual CD attached to this VM is "mini.iso", which is an odd name for the ISO of an official Linux distro. Where did you get this ISO from, and have you done an md5 check on it?
Edit: actually, now that I'm looking at media attached to this VM, I see that the main hard disk is "D:\Mint15.vdi" - VirtualBox certainly would not locate a VDI file in the root directory of a drive, so clearly I'm missing a part of this story. If you've botched a previous attempt to install a guest OS then perhaps you should scrap that VM and start again.

Ok, I created a new VDI disk on C: partition. I downloaded newest Mint - Mint 15. There is some kind of progress (it boots at least ...) but a new error occured:

"Windows Hosts" is not the appropriate place to discuss problems inside a Linux guest, hence moving this topic to "Linux Guests".
I'm afraid that others will have to help you with your Mint problems, as I don't use it. You may even find it better to ask questions on a Mint specialist forum.
For the moment, all I can suggest is that you enable VT-x in your laptop BIOS, confirm that nothing else (e.g. Hyper-v) is using it, and enable it in the VM.
