Hardware Virtualization 4.3 Not Working
Hardware Virtualization 4.3 Not Working
I'm getting an error with 4.3 that says VT-x/AMD-v is not enabled. I double checked that hardware virtualization is enabled. I have used Hyper-V which requires Hardware Virtualization and it works fine.

Re: Hardware Virtualization 4.3 Not Working
Something is using VMX and preventing VirtualBox from accessing it. If Hyper-V is still installed you will need to set it to not load on boot.
Re: Hardware Virtualization 4.3 Not Working
I didn't realize Hyper-V got exclusive access to VMX but I removed hyper-v. I now get this error trying to install Windows 7:
Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this CPU is not compatible with 64-bit mode.
I have attached the latest logs.

Re: Hardware Virtualization 4.3 Not Working
I would do a complete shut down and start instead of a warm boot. I am seeing VMX code but it does not finish like it should.
Re: Hardware Virtualization 4.3 Not Working
I did a shutdown and a cold boot but it still is giving me the same error. Any other ideas?

Re: Hardware Virtualization 4.3 Not Working
From the hosts terminal/command window type VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> --details and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use " " if the name has a space in it.
Note if the host is Windows you need to be in the directory that has VBoxManage.exe for the command to work.

Re: Hardware Virtualization 4.3 Not Working
Here's your problem, but I have no idea what to tell you since I have never encountered it before.
Maybe you need to update your bios, but other than that you would need to post a ticket at bugtracker
Code: Select all
00:00:00.492839 HM: Guest support: 32-bit only.Re: Hardware Virtualization 4.3 Not Working
OK. I will have to file a bug. I know the 64-bit VMs worked with 4.2.x. It sounds like a regression. I just installed the latest BIOS a few weeks ago.
Thanks!
Thanks!
