Hi,

I have installed the VirtualBox on my mac running OS X v.10.8.5, aiming to open a windows vmware image stored on an external hdd.
I found out that I can do it either by starting to define a new image on the external hdd by indicating the location and name of the vmware vmdk file, or by transforming the vmware image into the ovf format and then importing it into the virtualbox.
In either cases, I get the error: 'failed to open the file ..' with the following details: VBOX_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND (0x80BB0001)

Would you please let me know how could I solve this ?

The full and verbatim error would help here.
Is your disk located in a path with special or non-roman characters?

Hi,
1.I have copied the ovf file on the local hdd and tried to open from here.
I got the same error.Here is the full erorr message:

Failed to import appliance: /users/emil/Documents/iScala/iscala30.ovf
Details: Result code: VBOX_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND (0x80BB0001)

2. When I'm trying to open the original vmdk image on the external hdd, I get the below error:
Failed to open hard disk file
Volumes/Untitled/iScala/iScala_30_Demo_Image_5.4/iScala_Image_5.4_3.0/iScala_5.0_WS2008Ent-cl4
Details; Callee RC: VBOX_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND (0x80BB0001)
