Post by pgrncsdsce »

Hello,

Can any one guide me how to start a virtual machine using VBoxManage through CommandLine. Below is the command which i tried but got errors:

"C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" startvm {94bf5775-ade0-4af3-a84b-545ccb8b6b2f} --type guiVBoxManage.exe

"C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" startvm {94bf5775-ade0-4af3-a84b-545ccb8b6b2f} --type guiVBoxManage.exe: error: Could not find a registered machine with UUID {94bf5775-ade0-4af3-a84b-545ccb8b6b2f}VBoxManage.exe: error: Details: code VBOX_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND (0x80bb0001), component VirtualBox, interface IVirtualBox, callee IUnknownContext: "FindMachine(Bstr(pszVM).raw(), machine.asOutParam())" at line 544 of file VBoxManageMisc.cpp

First, run "VBoxManage list vms" to make sure you have the UUID correct (although I think this is NOT the problem). The problem is that you stick the "VBoxManage.exe" at the end of your command. Try: "C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" startvm {94bf5775-ade0-4af3-a84b-545ccb8b6b2f} --type gui, that is without the "VBoxManage.exe" at the end.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, that really helped.

I had listed my VMs and in my command i have to remove curly braces.
