USB/Serial adapter busy on VirtualBox

Hello,

I'm trying to use an old printer through my guest Fedora19 virtualbox
machine, on my OS 10.7.5 host.

As the printer has only a serial cable connection, I'm using a USB/serial
adapter and installed the PL2303-000012FD driver in order to make this thing work;
and I must add the I've succeeded when using OS 10.7.5.

However, when I try to get some connection via Virtualbox,
the following error log appears:
Failed to attach the USB device Prolific Technology Inc. USB-Serial Controller D
[0300] to the virtual machine Fedora.

USB device 'Prolific Technology Inc. USB-Serial Controller D' with UUID
{7522e198-e713-4ec8-a822-8d6147b6d477} is busy with a previous request.
Please try again later.

Result Code: NS_ERROR_INVALID_ARG (0x80070057)
Component: HostUSBDevice
Interface: IHostUSBDevice {173b4b44-d268-4334-a00d-b6521c9a740a}
Callee: IConsole {db7ab4ca-2a3f-4183-9243-c1208da92392}
The thing is that I'm not having any other issues with VBox's USB support.
USB Printers and Flash Drives are working just fine. I've tried disabling USB 2.0 support
as it is suggested in some forum threads, but that didn't work.

So, if you have any idea on how I could fix this, or any suggestions
about what I should do next, I would be much grateful.

Best Regards,
Diogo Tudela

Which forum threads suggested disabling USB2? That pretty much guarantees problems using any USB device.
