Hi,

Host: Windows 7;
VirtualBox version: 4.2.18

I have install Android phone driver in my windows 7, when i plugin my phone, I can see the USB driver has worked.

Then I start VirtualBox and go into setup window to add this USB device filter, there have three USB device but can not find Android device there.

I redo the steps in WINDOWS XP Host and the VirtualBox can see the Android device in USB device filters. And I can get this android device in virtual machine which OS is XP.

So, why VirtualBox under Windows 7 can not find my android device but can find other USB device ?

Thanks.

As a guess, I'd say that on your Win7 host you are plugging the device into a USB3 port, which VirtualBox doesn't support. Your XP host probably doesn't have any USB3 ports.

Hi mpack, thank you. I have checked my computer, you are right!

My computer has 4 USB port. 2 is USB 2.0 and 2 is USB 3.0.

When I plug my Phone into another USB port, VirtualBox can find the device now.

Thanks.

Thanks for reporting back. Note that the upcoming new 4.3 release will include support for USB2 devices in USB3 ports on Windows hosts.
