VirtualBox isn't launching?

Host OS: Windows 7
Guest OS: Windows 8.1
Dialog box appears when VM Virtualbox is launched:

It's a sign that VirtualBox.xml has been corrupted. You should find a backup copy in the same folder, with the extension ".xml-prev". Rename that to ".xml" and see where that gets you (obviously you have to move or delete the old VirtualBox.xml first). If you see an ".xml-tmp" in the folder then use that in preference to ".xml-prev".
If you get absolutely nowhere with this then you can simply delete the VirtualBox.xml file and VBox will recreate it: you'll have to use Machine|Add... to reregister the .vbox files of any VMs.
