VERR_VMX_NO_VMX error

Kind of new here. I am running VirtualBox 4.1.14 r77440 on a Dell PowerEdge Xeon MP CPU 3.66mhz (4 processors), Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. I have been trying to run several VMs and get the following errors,
VT-x is not available. (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX)

The odd thing is that I can run windows 2003 servers successfully as well as a XP VM. But I cannot seem to run any flavors of Linux, or Windows 8 Enterprise. I always get the above error. I have tried downloading VMs from VirtualBoxes dot org as well as creating my own. I always get the above error.
So, I googled around and discovered that I need to "turn VT on". I cannot see this feature anywhere in the BIOS, so I googled more and I saw on the Dell site that my server BIOS does not have this feature?
This is a pretty mondo server I have configured, surely, there is a way to work around this problem? I have searched through this forum for a solution and did not see my particular problem. Surely, someone has seen this before, probably my search criteria was bad :(
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

64-bit guests and any Windows 8 require hardware virtualization to work in VirtualBox. You will not be able to run anything but 32-bit guests and no Windows 8.

OUCH!
Is there another VM manager out there that will work with my hardware?

thanks for the quick response!
