After Linux Install - setup force reboot

I just installed my virtualbox and Linux 6.4 guest, when I reboot Linux starts "Welcome few more steps before your system is ready", after entering the info and select the "Finish" button the virtual machine shuts down. I restart the vm and it takes me right back the the Linux configuration screen. anyone have some ideas how to get past this?

Did you remove the Linux Install DVD(-ISO) from the virtual DVD drive of the guest before restarting?
It looks like the guest is just starting from the DVD again.

Yes I did, this is the setup agent running after a install. It appears that the install worked however this is the last few questions after the complete install. This is normal but the down side is I think it wants to reboot the " server " but instead to shutdown the Guest VM so when I restart the guest vm it takes me back to the setup screen, a vicious loop

Actually this sounds more like a failed install. Can you specify what the exact guest is?
Also post the guests log file (as an attachment)
See
Online Users Manual for the location of the file.

OS type: 'Mandriva'
00:00:00.584263 Host RAM: 3911MB total, 2381MB available
00:00:00.672196 RamSize <integer> = 0x0000000075500000 (1 968 177 152, 1 877 MB)
IOAPIC <integer> = 0x0000000000000000 (0)
Is this the 32-bit or 64-bit OL64?

The whole purpose of this is to run vm manager to support my oracle vm server ( dell poweredge t410 ). vm manager requires 64 bit machine and all I had available is my 64 bit laptop so I thought to install virtuabox with Linux so I can install the vm manager. gezz nothing like going around the block when I could have cut across the yard. The laptop is a Intel i5 with 4g ram

Well there are several issues with your setup.
1) it looks like you selected mandriva instead of Oracle when you started the setup.
2) you did not select the 64-bit at the same time and instead used the one that does not specify 64-bit which has started the issue.
3) you are allocating almost all of the free RAM to the guest (over-commit will happen)
4) IOAPIC is not enabled which it would have been if you selected the proper guest type and bit at install.
Bottom line you must at least enable IOAPIC and reduce the amount of RAM to 1024.
