The VM cannot be started

Post by pau »

Hello.
I am trying to start CentOS on Windows 7 host (VirtualBox 4.2.18 r88780).
After some time I am getting a message:

Code: Select all

It is unable to open session for virtual machine CentOS-6.4 (RU: Не удалось открыть сессию для виртуальной машины CentOS-6.4.)

This VM was configured to use 3D acceleration. However, the 3D support of the host is not working properly and the VM cannot be started. To fix this problem, either fix the host 3D support (update the host graphics driver?) or disable 3D acceleration in the VM settings (VERR_NOT_AVAILABLE).

Error code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {db7ab4ca-2a3f-4183-9243-c1208da92392}
What is the problem? Thank you very much in advance.

Thank you very much for answering.
Host OS (Windows 7) was updated, but from time to time I was receiving the same messages:

Code: Select all

It is unable to open session for virtual machine ...
So I decided to turn off 3D acceleration in VM settings - now at least it starts every time.
But it takes about one minute to show VBox VM manager dialog (no matter it is the first time after booting the host or not). And it takes about a minute also to start booting VM. It was not the same way before.
What kind of a problem is that? How to get additional information about?
Thank you very much in advance.
