If your guest format is LVM, gparted more than likely will not help. You do have a choice at install to use LVM or normal and my bet is you selected LVM. If so you use the built in modifier to adjust the partition. Seek assistance for this at the Fedora forums.

I forgot about LVM. The last Fedora guest I installed was Fedora 19 and I didn't set it up with LVM. The first time I saw LVM I didn't know what it was, didn't look it up, so i just have been doing standard installs. I looked it up today though. :)

Thanks for the reply . well at the time of install, i selected the custom storage option gave root the maximum storage however by default it splits it into the following no matter what i do
1. /dev/mapper/live-rw 3.9G 3.0G 796M 80% mounted on /
2. /dev/sda3 45G 3.0G 40G 8% mounted on /mnt/sysimage

As u said i may have to book of gparted and repartion after
