I am almost 100% sure this used to work.

Host is windows 7 x64
virtual box 4.2.18

guest is ubuntu 12.04 with guest additions installed, all the shared options are on bidrectional.

I can drag files from Windows to the ubuntu guest, but not the other way around.

the cursor gets stuck at the edge in the ubuntu guest when I try to drag a file out.

Anyone else experience this?

Yes, the only "drag and drop" currently supported is drag to a Linux guest. Not any other guest, and not guest to host.

Drag to host has security implications (it implies that a guest can modify files anywhere on the host) and hence may never happen. If it did happen then anyone sensible would turn it off! Since a large number of non technical users will not be aware of the implied risk then that's another reason not to provide the feature.

It really shouldn't be a big deal to drag the file onto a shared folder link on the guest desktop. That way the VM can only access what's in the shared folder.
