I can start up the virtual machine fine. I get to the login screen, and after typing my password in, I get a brief flash of a black screen, then the machine reboots back to the login screen.
Oddly enough, I can log in as a guest just fine, and even ssh to my user account from the terminal, but no amount of rebooting allows me to actually log in directly through my own account.
Any suggestions?

Post the guests log file (as an attachment)
See Online Users Manual for the location of the file.

Re: Ubuntu guest reboots after login
Ah sorry I thought I did, but I guess I didn't hit 'add'.
I fixed this myself anyways, thanks though.
I used ctrl-alt-F1 to force a login, and then shutdown the VM from the provided terminal.
I think the problem had something to do with a faulty shutdown last time, so I figured if I could get in somehow and get a proper reboot, it might work itself out. It did!
