Losing virtual disk while creating snapshot
Posted: 24. Sep 2013, 11:34
Dear all,
I've seen to have a problem with VBOX 4.2.18. Sometimes (it happened to me three times now) when creating a Snapshot, the process fails. After that the (virtual) SATA HDD is disconnected. Sometimes the virtual cd/dvd-rom station is disconnected as well.
The problem occured on two systems. Both running Windows 7 Pro x64. The version of VBox I am using is 4.2.18. It happened with a Windows Server 2012 (x64) guest and with an Debian Wheezy x64 guest. On the Windows 2012 system I've installed the VBox guest additions.
The only remedy is to restore the previous snapshot or attach the hard disk again. The last option sometimes fails as well.
I've attached the complete log file.
If you need some additional information, please let me know.
Edit 11:49:
Some screenshots attached.
Message is in Dutch, it says something like: "Creating of snapshot of virtual machine Exchange2013 has failed".
In this screenshot you can see the devices are gone.
