Windows 7 host: Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64-bit
VirtualBox version: 4.2.18.r88780 (I verified the md5sum of the ISO after downloading)
Guest 1: Ubuntu 12.04 (ubuntu-12.04.3-desktop-i386.iso, 32-bit, I verified the md5sum of the ISO after downloading)
Guest 2: LinuxMint 15 (linuxmint-15-cinnamon-dvd-32bit.iso, I verified the md5sum of the ISO after downloading)
Attempting to install either of the guests listed above results in the guest freezing (no activity or screen updates). The guests have been left in this state overnight in some cases, but they never recover. This machine has a successful VirtualBox install of Ubuntu 10.04 (installation was done on a much older version of VirtualBox).
At one point I uninstalled and reinstalled VirtualBox.
The crash happens at different places in the Ubuntu install.
