Problem to set up Guest additions

Hi,
There was currently one upgrade of Vbox from 4.2.16 to 4.2.18. After that, I choose
Devices > Install Guest additions

but I did get this to my Rhat Linux

You still have the old Guest Additions ISO mounted, and the guest OS has locked the drive - which is the expected behaviour.
Click on force unmount, or shutdown your guest, remove the ISO, then restart the guest and use the menu again to mount the ISO properly.

I have shut down the guest, remove the ISO, and have just restarted the guest. How to use the menu to mount the ISO? thanks

It looks like the CD/DVD drive has been detached from the IDE controller. If you add a virtual CD/DVD drive to the IDE controller then you should be able to mount media in the drive.

The usual reason this happens is that an inexperienced user, in attempting to remove a CD from the drive, has removed the drive from the VM instead.

Removing a CD from your virtual CD drive is easy - provided your VM actually has a virtual CD drive that is. You just select the CD drive in the left panel, and click the small disk icon which will be visible in the right panel, and from the resulting menu you select what else you want to mount in the drive (including nothing). This can also be done using the Device menu while the VM is running.

Select the IDE controller you see listed. Then use the first of the two icons which appear beside the controller to attach a CD/DVD drive to that controller. Once the drive exists you can select it and mount media within it using the right panel.

Thanks. I've mounted the iso file like

but after this, there is nothing happened when I choose

Devices > Install GuestAdditions

while the VM has been up.

"Install Guest Additions" works by mounting a virtual CD, autorun then kicks in and runs the installer. However if autorun is disabled in the guest OS then you need to browse to the CD inside the guest and run the installer manually. Installing Linux Guest Additions is more complex than for Windows Guests: be sure to read the instructions in the user manual.
