rsync from Ubuntu into Mac running Ubuntu on Virtualbox

I have one machine running Kubuntu 13.04
(all Kubuntu machines (over 10) can rsync flawlessly on the network.

I have another host machine(MAC ProBook) running Kubuntu 13.04 on Virtualbox

The MAC can rsync both directions into and out of the Ubuntu machine.

The Ubuntu machine cannot rsync into the Virtual Kubuntu on the MAC.

I get a request denied error referenceing port 22.
