Hello,
I'm an average PC user with a few years' experience, none of which involves Linux.
I'm running Vista-64 as the host and Ubuntu 13.04 as the guest.
Ubuntu recognises my HP 1000 laserjet printer, it lets me go on the internet via Firefox (using my Vista internet connection), and even tells me it's connected to my home network. It will not, however, let me print a single page or share any folders.
When I try and print it does nothing - no error messages even - and the jobs just sit there in the queue.
When I try and access shared folders, all I get is 'failed to retrieve shared list from folder'. I have sought and tried options involving the use of Ubuntu's terminal, but these have all failed and I had no idea what I was typing to be honest, though I did input everything correctly to no avail.
The mini toolbar also refuses to become visible, no matter what I do to the settings. I have Comodo Internet Security and Windows Firewall running. In Windows networking, no packets are being transmitted or received from VirtualBox which is a clear sign of a problem, though what the issue is I have no idea.
Can anyone assist me please?
Thanks in advance for any help.
