Hello I am trying to take a snapshot of a VM that I am running but it must not pause the VM.
Host: debian7
Guest Windows 7
Version of Virtual Box: VirtualBox 4.2.18
I tried the following commands:
VBoxManage snapshot VMname -take snapshotname (But it puts the vm to pause)
VBoxManage snapshot VMname -take snapshotname --live (but gives me a error that --live does not exist)
I am starting the VM like this: VBoxManage startvm VMname
Can any one tell me how to do this?
VBoxMAnage snapshot take LIVE

Re: VBoxMAnage snapshot take LIVE
AFAIK it will always pause the guest while taking a snapshot. This is to preserver the integrity of the guest.

Re: VBoxMAnage snapshot take LIVE
it is currently not possible to take a snapshot without pausing the VM, to preserve data integrity liked pointed out by Perryg.
Also, other solutions pause the VM a well, even tho they do not change the status of the VM for it, behind the scenes it is, for a very short moment.
