I'm having the following after installing 4.2.18. It will run when installed, and I check the box to run after the install but after I reboot it won't run and I get this:
Failed to create the VirtualBox COM object.
The application will now terminate.
Callee RC: E_NOINTERFACE (0x80004002)
If I reinstall VirtualBox-4.2.14-86644-Win it runs ok.

Well, it didn't take long to figure out. I installed virtualbox as admin and it ran with admin rights. When I run the app with admin rights it opens fine, I'm not sure why that changed in this version but that's the fix.

On 4.2.18 under Mac OS host, the Linux guest VM crashes when I do most anything with a USB device. USB sticks don't work at all. Other USB devices sometimes work, but always after I plug in a USB device and access it via the Linux guest, a crash will occur in the VM.
This is really quite bad. I liked the idea of VirtualBox and hoped to transition away from Parallels. From what I can tell, VirtualBox itself is pretty good but the host tools for 4.2.18 make the product unusable for me in a professional setting.

Why are you talking about a Mac host in the "Windows Hosts" forum?
In fact this entire thread seems to be a redundant duplication of the function of the
v4.2.18 discussion topic. Locking this one.
