Hi,

I just bought a new 4570 Core i5 processor and a motherboard Gigabyte H87-HD3, it did not work with my old x64 systems.

Strange that I can not install any x64 OS. I even managed to install Windows 7 Professional x64, but when it starts to finish the installation I get an error.

My operating system is Windows Home Premium x64 and I'm using the latest version of virtualbox I installed today.

Already changed the BIOS settings on the motherboard, making tests and still can not install virtual machines with x64 OS.

I am now trying to install the HyperV 2012 x64, it simply gets stuck on the home screen as if to start, but there appears no error. It is just caught in the boot.

Someone personal tip?

If you have the Hyper-v service running in the background, that will guarantee that you can't run 64bit guests in VirtualBox.

If that isn't it: please pick any VM, enable VT-x if you can (report back if you can't), run it and then post the VM session log here. Make sure the VM is shut down before grabbing the log. The VM log file is called "VBox.log", and can be found in the "Logs" subfolder of your VM folder. Zip this file, then post it here as an attachment.

let me get this straight. I think I got it wrong.
I'm trying to install Hyper-v 2012 on a VM in VirtualBox and I'm not getting it either start the installation.
What I did, was now re-enable Intel Virtualization Tecnology in the BIOS, I noticed that enabled VT-x and am using Hyper-V ISO 2012.
I cleared the file VBox.log and see the result.
I bought this processor and motherboard specifically for this and I am very upset. In my work I use a Core i5 650 with an Intel motherboard and everything works fine.

Looking forward to the new guidelines.

VirtualBox does not pass VT-x into the guest, hence you can't install Hyper-v inside a VirtualBox VM.

but I can at least install windows 2012 hyper v on another pc. I have not come to create a virtual machine within the hyper v. here in my, does not want to boot.

I realized now that my processor does not have the option Hyper-Threading Technology Intel ®. will this be a problem?

the motherboard appears the option to choose.

Hyper-threading is not relevant to the discussion above, and is not required (and usually not useful) for VMs. Its presence shouldn't matter.
