Screwed up a VirtualBox VM resize PART 2

hello world, I have a similar problem as the one described in the 'Screwed up a VirtualBox VM resize' topic

I acidentally resized my hd to 100gb instead of 10gb

already tried the hexedit method but I get an boot sector error after that and the box won't start

good thing is I can access the vm normally, no changes were really done to the actual size of the HD
- on windows explorer it still shows up as 5gb hard disk
- when I go to Computer Management>Disk Storage>Disk Management (or something like that) there's no extra space to allocate, it seems that the modifyhd command didn't take any effect

but, in the Virtual Box Manager screen, it shows the hd size as 97,66GB

here´s the vboxmanage showhdinfo results:

UUID: c75f520c-f053-4571-97df-a6a7aba589a0
Accessible: yes
Logical size: 100000 MBytes
Current size on disk: 4455 MBytes
Type: multiattach
Storage format: VDI
Format variant: dynamic default
Location: ****\ghost\ghost.vdi

so I got 2 problems really, first - is there anyway I can get the hd size down? I already tried the hexedit method with no lucky

second - why windows is not showing the extra space on the hd?

one more thing I forgot to mention: there´s a snapshot attached to the original .vdi file (multi attach type) that's not showing up in the snapshots tab, so I cannot delete it

Is it possible to detach it from the main .vdi? or change the type from multi-attach to normal?
could this be the cause of the trouble windows is having recognizing the extra disk space?

please help
thank you

Resize does not work with snapshots.
Best thing to do is to clone the guest and then see if you can fix this. See the following:
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=50661

I don't know what to do about the incorrect size other than what you have mentioned, but that might actually work once you go to no snapshots.
Be sure to read all instructions and select a single clone with no snapshots.
