VBox won't uninstall from computer: box partition problem

Hello!

I set up a virtual machine for some testing. Then erased it. Deleted the virtual partition. Rechecked it: Theres no virtual partition. Uninstalled virtualbox.

But now i need to backup my Windows 8 partitions with clonezilla. Could do it flawlessly before installing virtualbox. But now it keeps saying

"Box" is an unknown partition device

And wont let me launch clonezilla. Cant restore, cant backup, nothing.

Any hint how to fix this problem?

The virtual disk of a vm is not installed on a disk partition. It is simply another file in your file system, so there is no partition to delete.

I don't know what your problem is but I doubt that it is connected to anything that VirtualBox did.

... and by that token, if some host partition was deleted anyway as the OP suggests, then that is probably bad news for somebody.
