From this point forward I would not use snapshots.
Oh Perryg , you are here.

Understood about the snapshots.
I have the shared folders obviously with all the data.
So I have the REClon ready to serve to my purposes.

So I go now against the original machine and the clon with total confidence

What can I lose ?

If I am understanding you, you created the two data disks with a 3rd party application. This may be what caused your issues to begin with. Just use VirtualBox to create the drives.

In the settings and storage you click on the small drive that says add hard drive. When asked if you want to create a new one or use an existing one select to create a new one and set the size to what ever it is you want.

I have recovered the clon and reclon totally functional.

Tomorrow i will act over the original one.

I will delete the snapshots and desattach the data disks and recreate.

Best Regards

No. I follow your instructions.
Des-attach the old data disks and creates the two new IDE disks (.vdi) with VB.
Only I delete the des-attached old data disks directly in the windows explorer . That may be the only third utilities intervention....

When I copy the system disk from the original comunication machine I suspect it was a difficult operation. I don't know much but remember the UUID and similar. Perhaps I cannot do in so easy way.....
At least fails me.
But with your advice I have also security copies of the data in the shared folders.....

Is it possible to redimension the virtual hard disks in general with GParted if delete the snapshots ?
Even the system disk of course ?

If you can merge the snapshot then yes it should be able to resize. Since you have the data saved you can test all you want. No need to tell us how you are progressing unless you have a question. Of course this depends on the condition of the drives. From the sounds of it there is an issue with them.

No. Only delete any previous snapshot in the machine. Not exactly merge.

is it possible in that case ?

Well I don't do much with snapshots for reasons like you are having, but I believe that delete is what you use to merge the snapshots to the base.

I suggest that you read the following to determine what you need to do.

http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch01.html#snapshots
