Virtualbox networking error: Host IPv4 network mask is wrong

Post by etnguyen03 »

Hello,

So my issue is that Virtualbox says this error:
On the Network page, host IPv4 network mask of VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter is wrong
Then, I hit the configure button and I get a box saying this:

IPv4 Address: 0.0.0.0
IPv4 Network Mask: 0.0.0.0
IPv6 Address: (nothing)
IPv6 Network Mask Length: (nothing)

The DHCP Server tab says this:

Enable Server is checked
Server Address is 192.168.56.100
Server Mask is 255.255.255.0
Lower Address Bound is 192.168.56.101
Upper Address Bound is 192.168.56.254

I don't think you'll need a log, but if you want it simply reply. Thank you for your help!

Also, one last thing: If you change it, then hit OK, if you go back in it gives me the error.

VirtualBox Version 4.2.6
Windows 8 Professional with Media Center
HP Pavilion dv7-6c43cl

On my preferences the adapter has IPv4 Address 192.168.56.1, Mask=255.255.255.0. My IPv6 fields are blank, presumably because I have an XP host. My DHCP server fields match yours.
