Hello,
I have a windows 7 host with a debian guest setup. I am trying to configure my environment so that the debian (guest) has access to the internet, and I can browse to it via the web to a static IP that I have set up. I have two network connections defined in the VirtualBox. The first is NAT for (eth0), and the second is Host-only for (eth1). I have set the static IP to the IP issued in FilePreferencesNetwork. Once logged in I can ping the static IP from the host to the guest. However, I cannot browse to the guest static IP via a web browser despite having apache installed. Any help on how I can trouble shoot this will be greatly appreciated. If it helps anyone understand my network setup here are the results of an ifconfig:

Unless you changed the default address scheme for the host-only network ( not a good idea ) it should be in the range of 192.168.56.* and the host side is .1 with the guest .101 if using dhcp. You can set static addresses but not .1 which would be the hosts

That said the apache server may not be set properly. Verify that it is set to answer to the right address.
