My Laptop having issues to run VirtualBox

Hi,
I tried to install Linux red Hat enterprise 5.5 on top of oracle VirtualBox on my HP EliteBook 8460P which runs Windows 7 64bit, after activating virtualization support in the BIOS. it didn't work - after i chose which package to install by pressing enter, the install started but after 10 seconds it throws the following:
"Memory for crash kernel (0x0 to 0x0) notwithin permissible range
Kernel alive
Kernel direct mapping tables up to 100000000 @ 10000-15000".
it always gets stuck at this point.
i have activated to following settings in the bios: "virtualization technology"
and "virtualization technology for directed I/O".
I have installed exactly the same software from the same disk to the same version of VirtualBox on my desktop PC. So the problem is probably with the compatibility between VirtualBox and the laptop.
Has anybody encountered the said error or have any idea how to fix it?
Help. Thanks.
