Windows 7 64 bit 4 GB RAM Host
Installed VirtualBox v 4.2.6 r82870
Guest install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit Base 512MB RAM & Sata 8GB
After boot, select Install Guest Additions.
See dialog "Cannot mount CS/DVD image C:\Progam Files\Oracle VM VirtualBox\vBoxGuestAdditions.iso"
Like to force mounting?
(VERR_PDM_MEDIA_LOCKED)
I Force Unmount
Nothing happens
Try install Guest Additions again - same result.
I'd like to copy/paste and share files, Thanks for the help!

Re: Ubuntu on Win7 Host - Guest Additions will not install
With the guest shut down ( not saved state ) go to the guests settings storage and click on the CD/DVD. Look to the right where it lists the guest additions and click the small CD icon. Then select remove from drive. Start the guest and then click on the devices tab at the top and select install guest additions.
This will mount the additions in the virtual drive where you can then run the commands. Be sure that you have installed the necessary packages indicated on the link I sent and it should work.

Ah yes it would help for it all to work if I was not trying to do it via CLI without X desktop.
Installed X desktop and install now runs from the menu.
