debian gnome 3 failed to load

I have just got virtual box setup on a winxp host machine - running debian as guest. However, having installed debian - upon boot-up, I get this;

"GNOME 3 Failed to Load
Unfortunately GNOME 3 failed to start properly and started in the fallback mode.
This most likely means your system (graphics hardware or driver) is not capable of delivering the full GNOME 3 experience."


Has anyone come across this - and if so, how do I resolve?

Install the guest additions (in the guest) and make sure that you enable the 3D acceleration in the guest settings.
