Upon opening of it always shows the window stating 'The virtual machine window is optimized to work in 32 bit color mode but the virtual display is currently set to 24 bit.

Please open the display properties of the guest os and select 32 bit color mode, if it is available for best possible performance of the virtual video subsystem.'

My PC is windows 7 64, using 32 bit color, please tell me what I have to do to make use of virtualbox.

I'm afraid this really is a matter of doing what it says.

The screen on your host is set to 32-bit color, but on the guest it is set to 24-bit. This is awkward and inefficient, so you are warned about it.

Just change the color depth in the guest to 32-bit. You will have to do this from within the guest, and exactly how you do it will depend on what that guest is. All operating systems have standard ways of doing this, usually called something like "Display Properties".

Be warned that many guests default to a temporary lower graphics or text mode phase during boot before they reach the desktop proper, VBox may show you the warning during that time. If that is your problem, i.e. if the guest desktop is already set to 32bits then the warning dialog has done its job: so just click the "Do not show this message again" checkbox on the dialog.
