My main OS is Windwos 7 and i want to install Ubuntu 12.04 on VirtualBox but when i start the installation process i receive this error: SMbus error address initialized - upgrade BIOS or use force_addr=0xaddr
When i exit VirtualBox after this error i am getting blue screen error and the minidump report shows that it is caused be the VBoxUSBMon.sys driver.
That warning is not important. It is because the OS is being used in a virtual environment and you can ignore it.
To see what the error really is you need to post the guests log file (as an attachment).
I let the install process continue after this error message and it installed Ubuntu but it is running very slowly in comparison with the other virtual machines i have installed, like windows xp and windows 7, even so i installed the guest additions and i set 1GB RAM usage.
I'm using the Oracle VirtualBox ver. 4.2.16 r86992; I'm not sure if I've installed the Guest addition or not.
My host is Windows7, I believe 16-bit; I have 137 gig available on my primary hard drive. My guest is Linux Ubuntu, with 512 MB.
I'm booting up the VM using an Ubuntu .iso file. Most times I get to the startup screen for Ubuntu and then a Guru Meditation error and a shutdown. Once I made it to a screen of code and then the whole thing froze up on me. I'm fairly new to this sort of thing, can someone please help me figure out what the problem might be? Thank you very much.
