Re: Vboxfixhdd link no longer works
Why do you need it? It was a temporary solution to a very obscure problem which was long ago fixed.
Re: Vboxfixhdd link no longer works
I have an old build of virtual box that I need to fix. It says hard drive in accessible. When I did a search on the problem most of results said that was the tool to use.

Re: Vboxfixhdd link no longer works
VBoxFixHdd will not fix that error. The only error it fixed was a non-zero parentUUID field in the headers of VDI files which were converted from VMDK, where the VMDK was originally part of a snapshot chain or other differencing disk. Like I said, very obscure. If that does not describe your problem then VBoxFixHdd will not fix it.
Do not be misled by the generic filename. It is not a generic disk fixer tool.
A hard drive which is inaccessible can have a large number of causes, I guest the most usual one of which is that someone deleted the file. Tell me more about the error, and the circumstances that led to it, and perhaps I can help.

I have included screen shots of the problem. The file has not been deleted. I am using virtual box 3.2.8

Re: Vboxfixhdd link no longer works
I don't like exposing my PC to advertising sites just to view someone's screenshot. It would be better to attach images directly here.
In any case the screenshot seems to show "Portable VirtualBox" being used. That is someone else's fork of VirtualBox, we don't support it here.

Re: Vboxfixhdd link no longer works
I tried to attach image files to the post directly first, but I did not realize there was an attachment tab on bottom next to options tab. sorry about that.
Please can I have some help. I have not a clue how to fix. can you just go though the process as if it was a normal virtual box installation. if we narrow down that its sometime to do with it being portable version I do not except help with that.
I think that's responsible, and I would really appreciate any help you can give me.

Re: Vboxfixhdd link no longer works
Sorry, I can't help you. You are using someone else's product, and in any case the organization of files is exactly how Portable VirtualBox differs from official VirtualBox, so there's no way to know precisely what your problem is, or whether it would even arise with the VirtualBox I'm familiar with.
So, do a kosher install of the official VirtualBox - come back if you have a problem with that. Otherwise you need to look for support in the Portable VBox forums, assuming that exists (I've never used PV, so never needed to find out what they do for support).
