I am attempting to get to build a Debian Linux kernel and I am having problems. I have found the bash terminal, but I am having problems getting to the root in order to build the kernel. Can anyone help?

If you have Debian on a Dell Computer: Would you ask the Dell Support how to compile a linux kernel?
