Unable to share files between guest and host

Hello

I am a new user of VBox. My host is WinXp and guest is LUbuntu. VBox is version 4.2.16. I wish to share the files between the host and the guest. Also I wish to
copy some text in the host and paste it to gedit inside the LUbuntu. Few days ago, I read about in some forum that I need to install guest additions. I followed
some advice on that forum, but it didn't work out. I am now getting some errors while installing guest additions. I have attached the log file and some snapshots
of the settings. Please help. I have searched the forums before posting this and could not find sufficient information.

thanks

Have you tried clicking on Force Unmount?

This kind of problem is often caused by changing the VirtualBox software on the host, or replacing a virtual disk - or both - while the VM is suspended in a saved state. Make sure you discard any saved state attached to this VM.

Right click on the VM and choose "Discard saved state".
