With installation of Virtual Box version 4.2.14-86644 I lost the Virtual Box host Network Adapter.
I did not discover this until version 4.2.16
I have and AirCard that is I use in a Nexaria Nexconnect 3G Wireless router. Since 4G came where I am the speed of the 3G has slowed down. So I tried a local wireless internet, that when it connects then requires a login.
This creates a minor problem with a bridged Network, The Host will lose internet when the guest gets logged in. So I changed all my Guests to Nat Network so I wouldn't have that problem. I also have partitions in Linux which I changed the Guests to NAT, cause I use the same guest in Windows and Linux.
I went to check the Guest in Version 4.2.16, while in Linux with the bridged adapter, because one of my computers keep having to be logged in to the internet, and it should stay logged in with it mac code but wouldn't so I went to check one of my guest by using the bridged Network. Execpt when the Guest booted up the network completely went down. The web Page in the Host wanted to log in and the web page in the guest wanted to log in and neither would log allow a loggin, keep coming back to the login page.
I went back to Windows and shifted a guest to the bridged adapter and tried to boot up, only to find and error window, stating the network adapter had a problem. I went to the computer manager and look at the drivers. The windows virtual box virtual network driver was not working. the drivers could not load properly. Said it had the driver but too much resources were being used so it could not install properly.
I knew that 4.2.12 worked so I uninstalled version 4.2.16 from windows and reinstalled 4.2.12. I still had the Network driver problem. I uninstalled again, I deleted all virtual box hidden files and edited the registry. Reloaded 4.2.12. still no network. To make a long trouble shooting ordeal short, I had to Reload windows to get the network drivers. I will post again after I have tested more.
