Unable to load the guest OS in the VM

Post by Tanamir »

I have been trying to load the OS that I want to use within VirtualBox, but when I have everything setup in VB and I start the machine, The OS doesn't load even though I have selected the drive in the settings.

This is what I see:

UEFI Interactive Shell v2.0. UEFI v2.31 (EDK II, 0x00010000) . Revision 1.02
Mapping table
FS0: Alias(s) :F9c:;BLK1:
PciRoot (0x0) /Pci (0x1F,0x1) /Ata (0x0)
BLK0: Alias(s) :
PciRoot (0x0) /Pci (0x1F,0x1) /Ata (0x0)
BLK2: Alias(s) :
PciRoot (0x0) /Pci (0x1F,0x1) /Ata (0x0) /CDROM (0x0)
Press ESC in 0 seconds to skip startup.nsh or any other key to continue.
2.0 Shell>_

I have followed the wizard through the steps and when I start the machine this is what I get every time. I have formatted the physical HD that the VM lives on, the VM "sees" the CD/DVD ROM but it just sits idle with the WinXP disk inside. I have run this software before on this machine with no issues, but this is new to me.... what am I doing wrong??????

You do not need nor should you use EFI enabled to install Windows XP.
