Dear Forum,
please excuse at first if my English is not properly. I'm facing trouble with my Windows XP guest system on a virtual machine running on Mac OS 10.6.8.
The machine terminates with a critical error after I e.g. started the Qt Creator or Visual Studio. I never had this problem before but recently - maybe since I installed Kaspersky on Windows XP guest system - it appears very often. But I'm not sure if this could be a reason.
I attached the log file. Hope someone can give me a hint on what is going wrong or maybe if the solution is simple even show that to me.
Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Marcus

Re: Windows XP guest system crashes with critical error
What happens if you turn off 3D acceleration in the VM settings? IMHO this really isn't needed in an XP guest. I would also cut the RAM allocation down to 1GB at most.
I also notice that the version of the Guest Additions installed in the guest is significantly out of date (4.1.18, you are running VirtualBox 4.2.16).

Hi mpack,
thank you very much for your reply. At first I updated the Guest Additions. And I will turn off 3D Acceleration. The problem occured very randomly. But most of the times after I started one of these two applications mentioned above. Most of the time while compiling. I really had no idea. But I will try to follow your advices an see what will happen now.
Thanks a lot.
