PCMCIA Support

Post by malcognito »

Hello
I'm new to virtualbox so i hope someone can help. I need to run Windows 98SE as a guest, on a Windows XP laptop. I believe that will work OK, but the main reason is to make use of an old PCMCIA card which doesn't have XP or 2000 drivers - only drivers for 98. Does anyone know if the PCMCIA slot on the Host will be accessible from the guest?

Thanks for your help.

VBox doesn't directly support PCMCIA from the host, but it does support USB and USB to PCMCIA adapters do exist. I won't guarantee that'll work since USB support isn't 100% yet, but it just might do the trick for you if you can get it installed and working under 98. Good luck . . .

Hello
I'm new to virtualbox.
i hope someone can help.
I need to run Windows xp as a guest, on a Windows vista host.
my configuration is:
pc aspire 5920g with vista home
pcmcia express card
adapter express card to pcmcia curdbus 32 bit

the main reason is that not reconize the PCMCIA card.
I think that VB don't give us direct acces to the pcmcia card.
anyone know if the PCMCIA slot on the Host will be accessible from the guest?

the 2nd reason is that VB reconize the usb, but wht i connect it and check with explorer, I don't find the relevent drive ( ex. G:)

thank you in advance
